Our Three-Step Process
Tri-County Chem-Dry follows a three-step process to thoroughly clean carpets contaminated with pet urine.
The first step is to detect all urine stains, including those invisible to the naked eye. Tri-County Chem-Dry uses a special ultraviolet light to identify any hidden urine deposits, ensuring that all areas are identified and addressed during the cleaning process.
The second step involves using the Hot Carbonating Extraction (HCE) cleaning process, designed to penetrate carpet fibers deeply and extract deeply embedded dirt and urine. This innovative system utilizes the power of carbonation to remove liquid and loose urine crystals from the carpets, leaving them fresh and thoroughly cleaned.
The final step is eliminating any remaining urine odors using the P.U.R.T. product. Unlike traditional cleaning methods that only temporarily mask the odors, P.U.R.T. penetrates the carpet down to the subfloor to destroy the odor-causing molecules. Once the solution has been applied, it breaks down the odor-causing matter inside the carpets over the next 24 to 36 hours. All urine odors are eliminated for good when the area has completely dried.
Dealing With Fresh Stains
Acting quickly when accidents occur is crucial. Taking prompt action can help avoid persistent discoloration and unpleasant smells if you encounter a recent urine stain.
To start the cleaning process, begin by absorbing the stain. Place a dry, clean cloth or a layer of paper towels over the affected area and press firmly to soak up the urine. Refrain from rubbing the stain into the fibers, which could exacerbate the situation. Repeat this step until all the liquid has been absorbed.
Afterward, lightly dampen the stained section with water. Use a clean cloth or paper towel to wet the area until it is moist. Be cautious not to over-saturate the carpet fibers, as this could allow the urine to penetrate further into the carpet.
Blot the moistened area until the carpet is dry. Once more, employ a clean, dry cloth or paper towel to absorb residual liquid. You may repeat the rinsing and blotting process until no visible stains, or persistent odors remain.
It’s important to note that while this process usually works on fresh stains, it may not work if the urine has already set or leaked into the padding or subfloor. If this is the case, it’s best to contact Tri-County Chem-Dry to assist in cleaning.
